The Minority Supplier Diversity
Professional of the Year award
is presented to a national corporate
member with at least
two years of experience in a
corporate supplier diversity role. The upand-coming
or seasoned recipient demonstrates
exceptional action, engagement and
leadership in supplier diversity and in support
of NMSDC’s mission.
Lance Hyde joined EQT in 2012 to head
the company’s supplier diversity program.
As a man of faith, he said he gives all praise
and glory to God, and he believes it is imperative
to give back to those who are less
fortunate. He uses his platform at EQT to
foster and develop MBEs to earn business
with corporations because he believes it will
enrich our communities and employ many
who would otherwise not be employed.
Before joining EQT, he served as a
consultant to both global corporations
and diverse firms to aid in their diverse
business development strategies and as a
community advocate and proponent for
socioeconomic business development. He
has earned commendations from two U.S.
senators and the governor of California. In
addition, he received a Certificate of Special
Congressional Recognition from U.S.
Representative Barbara Lee of California.
Since joining EQT seven years ago as the
only member of EQT’s supplier diversity
program, Hyde has helped the company’s
annual diversity spend increase 1,544 percent
, from $73 million in January 2012 to
$1.2 billion in 2018. EQT became the first
oil and gas company to spend over $1 billion
with Tier I diverse suppliers in one
year in the United States, resulting in recognition
as NMSDC’s Class I Corporation
of the Year in 2018.
He drafted the white paper for NMS-
DC’s Petrochemical Energy Industry Group
and successfully brokered many multimillion-dollar
MBE contracts. He also created
an annual, one-of-a-kind matchmaking
event that connects MBEs to the leading
corporations in the oil and gas industry
and developed an innovative Tier II reporting
portal, along with a workforce diversity
tracker that generates metrics on a per-project
basis. He also works with the talent acquisition
function to recruit and retain diverse
talent, serves on EQT Foundation’s
operating committee and coordinates with
the company’s employee resource groups.
NMSDC affiliate councils, advocacy
councils, community leaders and elected
officials have recognized Hyde with many
awards for his EQT supplier diversity accomplishments
. He continues to serve on
several national industry groups and committees
, including NMSDC’s Petrochemical
and Energy Industry Group and the
Eastern Minority Supplier Development
Council’s certification and strategic plan
oversight committees.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in business
administration from California State
University-East Bay in Hayward and an MBA
from Waynesburg University in Pennsylvania
where he was chosen to be the commencement
speaker and graduate program representative
. He was recently selected for the
Executive Leadership Academy at Carnegie
Mellon University Tepper School of Business
, a world-class executive development
course that offers the tools, exposure and
training necessary to elevate African-American
executives to the C-suite.

He also has extensive senior leadership experience in the public
sector, including serving in various senior management positions
as an appointee in the Clinton administration. In the 2004 election
cycle, Reyneri served as a senior adviser to the chairman of the
Democratic National Committee and as DNC director of Hispanic
Outreach. He also serves as vice chair of the board of directors of the
National Utility Diversity Council.
Raul F. Salinas is general counsel to the USHCC and managing
shareholder in the Los Angeles, California, office of AlvaradoSmith,
which provides legal services to Fortune 500 companies and government
agencies. He assists public and private entities, as well as
international companies that do business in the United States, to implement
strategic business initiatives in a wide range of areas, including
business, employment, health care, government regulatory and
international affairs.
Salinas has extensive federal and state trial and appellate court experience
. He also serves in a general counsel capacity for numerous
clients where his guidance extends to boardroom governance matters
and regulatory compliance issues. Salinas sits on several of nonprofit
boards, including the Los Angeles Latino Chamber of Commerce, Habitat
for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles, Adventist Health White Memorial
Medical Center,California Women’s Foundation and La Plaza de
Cultura y Artes. At AH White Memorial, he also co-chairs the Center for
Hispanic Health, a medical research initiative.
Victor Arias is a managing director in RSR Partners’ Dallas, Texas, office
and serves as a senior member of its board recruiting practice. He joined
from other major firms where he specialized in board recruitment, consumer
products and real estate. Arias was also global leader of diversity
and inclusion practices. He has served clients in the U.S.and Latin America,
including Mexico. Arias earned his master of business administration from
Stanford University and bachelor of business administration from University
of Texas at El Paso, where he was named Distinguished Alum in 2009.
Arias is a trustee emeritus for the Stanford University board of
trustees, the current chairman of the Stanford Latino Entrepreneurship
Initiative, and prior member of the Stanford GSB Advisory
Council. Arias serves on the University of Texas at El Paso Development
Board and is a past White House Fellows Commissioner. He
serves on the board of Popeye’s Louisiana Kitchen Inc. for 15 years
until his retirement in 2016. He is also past national president and
co-founder of the National Society of Hispanic MBAs, prior member
of the Notre Dame Institute of Latino Studies board, and a founding
board member of the recently formed Latino Corporate Directors
Association, a membership group for Hispanic corporate directors. n
